Trade Courses to Permanent Residency Pathways

“If you choose the correct course, you can improve your chances of obtaining a work visa or permanent residency in Australia.”

1

STEP 1

Go to trade school and learn a skill from the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

STEP 2

Students from outside Australia who finish their studies in Australia after at least two academic years may apply for the Graduate Visa, which provides them with a stay of up to 18 months.

STEP 3

Complete TRA’s 12-month Job Ready Program (JRP) while on a 485 visa. It’s for international graduates with an Australian certificate from a CRICOS-registered training organisation who studied in Australia and can lead to a positive skills evaluation.

STEP 4

You may be eligible for the TSS 482 visa, the 491 Regional Skilled visa, the 494 Employer Sponsored Regional visa, and other Skilled visa if you receive a favourable skills evaluation (189 and 190 visa).
